ECIP-1049: Why Ethereum Classic should Adopt Keccak256 for its Proof of Work Algorithm.

  1. ETC should follow the lead of Bitcoin and adopt a CPU-hard algorithm, which it will be the biggest coin on that algorithm.
  2. Keccak256 is the same algorithm that smart contracts on Ethereum Classic currently have access to, and it would allow smart contracts to verify the Proof of Work of the blockchain they are running on.
